Would you like to work for a growing, multi-site business based in the Midlands? An established and expanding organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for operations at its site near Longbridge. This role offers genuine ownership of warehouse and logistics performance, leading a small team of 3-5 people and playing a key part in driving efficiency, service levels, and continuous improvement as the business continues to grow.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll oversee day-to-day warehouse and logistics activity while also focusing on longer-term improvements. You'll ensure stock is controlled accurately, goods move efficiently, and transport arrangements meet both service and cost expectations. Working closely with teams across operations, production, procurement, and customer service, you'll help ensure the warehouse function supports the wider business effectively.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Overall management of warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods
- Ownership of stock control and inventory accuracy, including full traceability
- Coordination of transport, couriers, and internal stock movements
- Leadership, coaching, and development of a warehouse team of 3-5 people
- Tracking performance through KPIs such as OTIF, stock accuracy, and logistics costs
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and improved ways of working
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards and compliance requirements are met at all times
- Managing costs and contributing to budget control within the department
- Maintaining effective working relationships with external suppliers and transport partners
About You
You'll be an experienced warehouse or logistics professional with a practical, solutions-focused approach. Comfortable leading from the front, you'll enjoy improving processes, developing people, and taking accountability for performance.
Essential:
- Previous experience managing warehouse and logistics or transport operations
- Strong understanding of inventory management and goods-in / goods-out processes
- Proven people management experience
- Confident communicator with good planning and organisational skills
- Valid FLT Counterbalance licence
Desirable:
- IOSH Managing Safely and/or CPC qualification
- Background in a manufacturing or chemical environment
- Experience using ERP or WMS systems (e.g. Sage 50, SAP, NetSuite)
- Leadership or management qualification (ILM / CMI)
