A leading manufacturer of fastener products in the Manchester area is seeking a Toolmaker to join their New Mould Manufacturing Team.

Working in a state-of-the-art factory that continuously invests, this role carries a high importance within the Mould Manufacturing process.

***Up to £39,500, annual bonus of circa £800, working Monday to Friday days with early finish Friday, 33 days holiday, Bupa***

Your duties as Toolmaker will include –

  • Manufacture, preventative maintenance and day-to-day servicing and repairs of injection mould tooling
  • Programming & operating CNC machines
  • Inspecting work using CMM and 3D profiling machines
  • Creating inspection reports for Quality Control and external auditors
  • Keeping reliable and accurate manufacturing and inspection data to use for both Quality and customer

  • Involvement in continuous improvement activity, embracing and initiating technological advances within the workplace
  • To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will –

  • Be a time served / apprentice trained Toolmaker with a strong background in injection mould tool manufacture, repair, modification and maintenance
  • Have a good base knowledge of multi cavitation plastic injection mould tools
  • Have in-depth knowledge of mould tool assembly
  • Have knowledge of the principles of manual machining processes including, milling, turning & surface grinding
  • Be proficient in programming and operating CNC machinery
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings
  • Have a working knowledge of basic computer software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • On offer –

  • A basic salary of £39,350.64 per annum
  • Overtime available and paid: 3 Midweek, 1.5 Saturday and 2.0 Sunday
  • Annual Bonus (based on company performance, usually around £780 per employee)
  • Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7am – 3:30pm Friday 7am – 2:30pm
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Healthcare – Private Health Insurance Scheme with BUPA (Partners and dependents under the age 21 can be added)
