- The CNC Programmer Role
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Modifying existing CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality.
- Working on HAAS VMC machining centres.
- Manufacturing precision components from engineering drawings.
- Supporting apprentices and sharing your machining knowledge.
- Troubleshooting machining issues and assisting with continuous improvement.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Working closely with production and quality teams to ensure on‑time delivery.
- The ideal CNC Programmer
You’ll be an experienced CNC Programmer with CNC milling experience and the confidence to support others on the shop floor.
You'll ideally have experience with
- CNC Milling
- HAAS controls
- VMC machining centres
- Fanuc controls
- G‑Code editing/modification
- Reading engineering drawings
- Working to tight tolerances
Previous mentoring experience isn’t essential. What’s important is having the attitude and willingness to pass on your knowledge to apprentices and less experienced engineers.
