A Slitter Setter / Operator is required for an internationally trading steel company based in the Halesowen area. If you have experience within the steel industry, setting and operating slitting lines, then this role could be ideal for you. You will be responsible for setting and operating the lines, loading coils, operating cranes and driving counterbalance forklift trucks, amongst other duties.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting and running a wide coil slitting line, processing coils up to 1500mm wide
  • Checking and setting of shimless tooling on the machine using Edgemaster
  • Selecting and using correct tooling for slitting heads and separators
  • Loading and unloading of coil onto the machinery using a pendant overhead crane
  • Supporting the line when required, banding / packing / labelling of slit coil

This Slitter Operator position is working mornings / afternoons rotating weekly, so you MUST be flexible to work the shifts. Working mornings / afternoons: 6:00am - 2.00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm. Paying £14.17 per hour. Multiple additional bonuses after 12 weeks = £16.00+ per hour.

After a 12 week probationary period you get an additional daily attendance bonus of £12.85 per day, which bumps your rate up by around £1.60 per hour for clocking in on time and completing a full shift. They also pay a weekly production bonus, an additional £10-£20 per week, again after 12 weeks.
