An established UK engineering business specialising in machine‑tool peripherals and industrial automation is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join its growing service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Service Engineer who enjoys working in a customer‑facing role, carrying out installations, servicing and fault finding on advanced manufacturing equipment across the UK. The Role
As an Electrical Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing specialist machine‑tool peripheral equipment at customer sites throughout the UK. You will also provide technical support remotely, ensuring customers receive a first‑class service while working closely with the internal service team.
Electrical Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Install, commission and service industrial machinery and machine‑tool peripheral equipment.
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and planned service visits.
- Support customers remotely via telephone and email, providing technical advice and troubleshooting.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records using digital service systems.Prepare equipment and documentation before installations.
- Attend product training to maintain and expand technical knowledge.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an Electrical Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Service Engineer within manufacturing, machine tools, automation or industrial engineering.
- Strong electrical fault‑finding skills with a good understanding of mechanical systems.
- Experience reading electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
