A rapidly growing distribution business operating direct to consumers is now seeking an Operations Manager to lead their team to continued success. Reporting directly to the MD, the purpose of this Operations Manager role is to streamline the business and its processes to maintain high quality and service standards as the business continues to grow. In the mid to long term, there is potential for promotion to Director level, making this role more of an Operations Director Designate.

You will oversee three main functions of the business, with three managers directly reporting to you and a team of over 35 staff. There are sites across three other countries that will also need streamlining to match the UK site's processes and standards. This company is on the verge of significant growth, transitioning from a mid-sized SME with 130 employees. You will have the opportunity to implement meaningful change, making this a challenging role with substantial rewards.

Key responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:

  • Planning and utilizing resources efficiently across departments to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Monitoring and controlling KPIs to meet business, financial, and service objectives.
  • Training, motivating, managing, and leading teams while identifying and nurturing strengths and areas for development.
  • Overseeing operational processes to ensure maximum efficiency and readiness for growth.
  • Maximizing direct labor productivity and managing P&L.
  • Producing operational reports to support the implementation of new systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality and Health & Safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a complex supply chain environment, preferably in B2C distribution, though B2B experience is also valuable. You should have significant commercial exposure and a strong analytical approach with high attention to detail.
