An experienced electrical maintenance engineer is required for a hugely successful manufacturing business based in Leeds.

The business is a global manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of high-quality products for the aerospace and defence sectors, with sites across the world they are part of the biggest Aerospace manufacturing group in the world. With a site stretching over 200,000 sq feet, they have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. They also have a strong team of 16 maintenance engineers across the shift system, which gives you a great opportunity to learn from their most experienced engineers on each of the machines.

Benefits include a salary of Circa £44K, overtime in the week, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, quarterly bonuses, a company pension scheme with matched contributions up to 7.5%, medical cover, sick pay, and various other benefits

Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer include:

  • To provide electrical maintenance to a range of machinery including CNC, manual, robots, conveyors, moulders, casting furnaces and finishing equipment
  • Reacting to urgent breakdowns, reducing machine downtimes to a minimum
  • Electrical repairs to motors, drives, inverters, encoders, boards, wiring, switches, relays, contactors, sensors
  • PLC fault finding and interrogation to trace back faults
  • Ensure adequate spares and parts are ordered correctly
  • Following PPM’s to ensure all equipment is routinely serviced and inspected
  • Supporting the maintenance manager with facilitating the in house CMMS

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Electrical bias maintenance engineer, maintenance electrician, electrical engineer
  • Apprentice trained, or hold an electrical engineering qualification
  • Be able to carry out repairs and breakdown responses to capital equipment
  • Understand and interpret electrical drawings
  • Flexibility towards working a 3 shifts rota

Initially, the role would start on morning shifts for the first 3 months during training, once trained the position would then move to 40hrs per week rotating Morning, Afternoon & Night shifts Mon to Fri (Other than nights which is across Mon – Thurs only
