A Steel Operative / Counterbalance FLT Driver is required for an internationally trading steel company based in the Willenhall / Wednesfield area on a temporary basis.
For this role you will need an in-date Counterbalance FLT Driver licence and experience within a steel processing environment. If you have experience within the steel industry this steel operative / steel bander / FLT driver position could be ideal for you. You will be responsible for the banding up of steel and operating counterbalance forklift trucks to handle steel, amongst other duties.
Duties include:
- Working on the back end of processing lines, e.g. Slitters
- Banding up of processed steel
- Using manual and air banders
- Driving counterbalance forklift trucks
There are 2 Steel Operative / Counterbalance FLT Driver positions available, one is working day shifts, the other is working nights. There is NO rotation, these are separate jobs:
- Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Thursday covering 48 hours per week.
- Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am Monday to Thursday covering 48 hours per week.
The rate of pay is starting at £12.67 per hour on days and £14.98 per hour on nights. Temporary position to start with, potential for long-term opportunities dependent on work levels and your job performance.
