This role will support tooling, grinding and toolroom activities across production, ensuring high-quality tooling and precision parts are delivered to tight tolerances and production deadlines.
Grinder responsibilities include:
- Operating surface, universal and jig grinding machines to manufacture and maintain precision tooling and components.
- Producing spare parts, regrinding tooling and supporting preventative maintenance activities across the toolroom.
- Supporting production teams with tooling issues, repairs and continuous improvement activities.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure components meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and safety within the toolroom environment.
- Supporting apprentices and sharing knowledge across the wider engineering team.
