An opportunity has arisen for a Toolmaker to join an award-winning manufacturer in the Derbyshire region. This is a newly created opportunity. The business has been established for over 50 years and remains a leading manufacturer in the UK. They have sustainable growth to £150M turnover and are looking to expand their facility from 400k ft squared to over 750k ft squared in the next 12 months. This really is the best time to be joining a highly profitable business with ambitious expansion plans. They are offering an attractive salary package circa to £35k to £40k with regular days and an early finish on Fridays.
Responsibilities of the Toolmaker:
- Be able to read engineering drawings to produce parts required using lathes, drills, milling machines, grinding machines, etc.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
- Set up and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to given tolerances and specifications.
- Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, and defects.
