About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of goods and raw materials. You will be instrumental in supporting cost down initiatives, optimising payment terms, controlling inventory, ensuring on-time supplier delivery (OTD), and identifying departmental process improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all purchasing functions, including order placement, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times with vendors.
- Expedite orders to meet requirements and stock strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing data in SAP via MRP.
- Review material quantities and delivery dates, communicating potential issues to management.
- Support and participate in business improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S activities.
- Plan and place material purchase orders using schedules, consignment stock, Kanban, and other order systems.
- Investigate and approve supplier invoice issues.
- Actively manage supplier delivery performance through KPIs and performance reviews.
- Undertake other duties as required within the scope of the role.
Basic Qualifications:
- CIPS Certification or equivalent qualification.
Key Competencies:
- Proven materials management and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong SAP experience.
- Experience with scheduling, MRP, MPS, and consignment stocking.
- Proactive approach and initiative in problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
