A Toolmaker opportunity has become available within a growing manufacturing business supplying high-quality engineered products to customers across a range of industries. Due to continued investment and expansion, the company is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of an experienced Toolmaker.
Working closely with production teams, tooling suppliers and engineering colleagues, you'll play a key role in supporting manufacturing performance, tooling capability and future engineering investment decisions. In return, the company offers a salary of circa £45,000, flexible working hours, an early Friday finish and genuine opportunities to broaden your responsibilities into tooling design and engineering projects.
Toolmaker responsibilities include:
- Manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining tooling using conventional milling, turning, and grinding machinery.
- Supporting production teams with tooling-related issues, repairs and engineering improvements.
- Working with tooling suppliers to develop and improve tooling solutions.
- Supporting process development and continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing operation.
- Identifying opportunities to improve tooling performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Producing business cases to support tooling and equipment investment proposals.
Toolmaker desirable skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a Toolmaker, Toolroom Engineer or similar manufacturing professional.
- Strong hands-on experience with conventional/manual milling, turning, and grinding machinery.
- Engineering qualification such as Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
- Ability to diagnose tooling issues and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Comfortable working with production teams, suppliers, and other engineering stakeholders.
