An established and highly respected precision engineering business within the aerospace supply chain is seeking a Planning Estimating Engineer to join its commercial team. The company manufactures complex, high-specification components for leading OEMs and is recognised for its quality, reliability, and continued investment in advanced machining technology. Operating in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this is a key role bridging commercial and manufacturing functions, supporting the successful delivery of customer projects from enquiry through to production.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing RFQs/RFPs, from small batches to large work packages
- Preparing accurate estimates and customer quotations
- Conducting contract reviews to ensure compliance with requirements
- Creating parts, BOMs, and route plans within the ERP system
- Processing sales orders and raising purchase/subcontract documentation
- Liaising with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Monitoring order progress and updating customers
- Supporting reporting through data analysis and performance metrics
Key requirements:
- Experience within aerospace precision engineering or CNC machining
- Strong understanding of aerospace standards and manufacturing processes
- Experience in estimating, planning, or programme management
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
