Join an established engineering manufacturer supplying advanced industrial equipment to customers across a variety of global markets. We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to support the development, testing, commissioning and ongoing support of complex automated machinery. Up to £45,000 + Benefits This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong controls and automation experience who enjoys a hands-on role combining electrical, software and commissioning activities. Based in the West Midlands, the role will also involve occasional travel within the UK and overseas to support installation, commissioning and customer requirements. Control Systems Engineer Responsibilities Commission and test advanced industrial machinery and automated equipment. Test and validate electrical control systems and machine safety functions. Configure, load and test PLC, HMI and motion control systems. Carry out machine calibration and prepare equipment for production and acceptance testing. Support the setup and commissioning of servo drives, inverter systems and associated control hardware. Develop and modify control system designs, including hardware and PLC software. Undertake functional testing to ensure equipment meets performance and customer specifications. Provide technical support to customers and internal engineering teams. Assist with troubleshooting, fault finding and continuous improvement activities. Control Systems Engineer Requirements Experience commissioning industrial automation, machinery or control systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Experience working with low-voltage control systems. Knowledge of inverter drives, servo systems and motion control technologies. Good understanding of industrial sensors, actuators and machine automation. Practical fault-finding experience across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience reading, modifying or developing PLC software. Knowledge of machine commissioning, testing and validation processes. Exposure to CNC machinery or automated manufacturing equipment would be advantageous. Control Systems Engineer Benefits £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Permanent, full-time position. Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm. Friday: 7:30am-3:00pm.
