About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Operative to join our team in South Birmingham. This hands-on manufacturing role focuses on the day-to-day operation of machinery, converting slab stock into high-quality finished products ready for coating and further processing. You will play a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to produce and finish materials.
- Follow production schedules and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Carry out continuous monitoring and quality assurance checks.
- Inspect the block modules for surface defects, sharp edges, or dimensional inconsistencies.
- Complete housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks.
- Use basic computer systems to track stock levels and product lifecycle information.
- Maintain accurate records in line with audit requirements and established procedures.
- Report any non-conformance issues to the Line Manager.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and technical documentation.
- Contribute to keeping the department at the cutting edge of CNC capability, including fixturing, tooling, and software utilisation.
About You
Essential
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Minimum 3 years of Machines operating experience
- Good understanding of engineering drawings
