Birmingham Based | Multi-Million Pound Programme | Opportunity for Extension

A contract Programme Manager position has arisen within an established engineering and manufacturing business following the award of a major, multi-million pound customer programme.

Reporting directly to the Director level, you'll take ownership of the programme and coordinate activity across Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Production and Quality.

You'll manage several priorities, influence teams across the business and ensure the programme remains on track against demanding delivery dates.

  • Programme Manager responsibilities include -
  • Develop and manage the programme plan across design, validation, production readiness and delivery.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Supply Chain, Production and Quality activities to ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor material availability, supplier lead times and production capacity, identifying and addressing risks to delivery.
  • Act as a key customer contact, providing progress updates and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain programme budgets, actions, risks, KPIs and accurate RAG reporting.
  • Coordinate external partners, subcontractors, and customer sites throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Programme Manager desirable skills and experience -
  • Previous Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager experience within engineering and manufacturing.
  • Experience coordinating Engineering, Supply Chain, Production and Quality activities.
  • Strong understanding of material availability, supplier lead times and manufacturing capacity.
  • Confident managing several projects, customers, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial awareness, customer management and senior stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience delivering complex programmes within a stage-gate or similarly governed environment.
