About the job Accountant/Bookkeeper
Our client is looking for a Full‑time Bookkeeper to join their team at their office in Bolton. The role is busy and varied, working for a reputable owner‑managed business.
Flexible working hours approximately 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities of the Full‑Time Bookkeeping / Accounts role
- Processing accounts payable and receivable and managing supplier invoices using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and other cloud‑based accounting software varying upon client requirements
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, Amazon, eBay, Shopify and petty cash
- Maintaining accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing journals, accruals and pre‑payments
- Reconciliation of debtors and creditors
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Providing help and support to the Payroll department
- Supporting the smooth running of office by providing administrative support to management as requested (answering the telephone and other administrative services)
Successful Candidate For The Bookkeeping Position
- You must have previous experience in a Bookkeeping / Finance role to be considered
- The ability to manage and organise your own portfolio of clients
- The role requires a high level of attention to detail / a flexible approach
- Experience of managing supplier invoices and payments
- Strong skills with Xero and QuickBooks
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Hardworking person who enjoys a stand‑alone accounts role within a small office / team
