ASB Corporate Banking is part of ASB's high performing Global Transaction Banking team in Corporate Banking. We are looking for a dedicated Merchant Associates Team Manager to lead a team of Merchant Associates and help deliver value-add merchant solutions. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at Level 1 Wairau Park (North Shore).
Te Tūranga | The role
- Provide expert guidance, resources and support for your team to deliver merchant solutions.
- Support day-to-day operations, including problem solving, project delivery and Merchant activity oversight.
- Co-coach and mentor staff to deliver outstanding customer service and create positive client experiences.
- Work closely with external partners to support new and existing clients, addressing technical and operational needs for seamless service delivery.
- Guide merchants to meet compliance obligations while ensuring adherence to bank policies and procedures.
- Maintain in-office presence to manage the team and strengthen relationships; flexibility is available in line with ASB policy.

- Has proven experience leading operational, sales or service teams.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Is detail-oriented, proactive and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Has excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Is proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Is committed to delivering high-quality customer service and can work autonomously.
- Has experience in sales onboarding and related processes, and can build lasting customer relationships in a service environment.
- Can quickly learn complex issues with minimal support and bring a positive, customer-focused attitude.
