Job Title: Design Development Engineer** **Location: North Wales** **Overview:** We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Development Engineer to join our team in North Wales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with expertise in SolidWorks and a solid understanding of mechanisms. This role requires an innovative individual who can develop and improve product designs, ensuring functionality, durability, and manufacturability. Any experience or interest in Optical Engineering wouldbe useful **Key Responsibilities:** – Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for precision devices, including optical instruments, using SolidWorks CAD software. – Lead the design process from conceptualization to fabrication, ensuring designs meet specifications and functional requirements. – Analyze design concepts for performance and feasibility using engineering principles and tools. – Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers, to ensure smooth transition from design to production. – Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications. – Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data, and interpret results to optimize designs and solve complex engineering problems. – Prepare clear and detailed technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for production and end-user support. – Participate in design reviews, offering critical and constructive feedback to improve overall design quality. – Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical design, optical engineering, and precision mechanism technologies. – Develop project timelines and deliverables, manage time effectively to meet deadlines and project milestones. – Provide technical support for product installation, troubleshooting, and post-launch assessment. – Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. **Qualifications:** – Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field. – Proven experience as a mechanical design engineer with a strong portfolio of design projects. – Proficient with SolidWorks CAD software and familiarity with other design and simulation tools. – Deep understanding of optical engineering principles and experience designing optical systems is a plus. – Skilled in developing precision mechanisms and intricate component designs. – Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills. – Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. – Effective communication skills to articulate design concepts and rationales clearly. – Self-motivated with strong organizational and project management abilities. **How to Apply:** Please send your CV to (email address removed) **Job Title: Design Development Engineer** **Location: North Wales** **Overview:** We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Development Engineer to join our team in North Wales.
