Our client, a reputable scientific manufacturing company based in South England, is seeking a Permanent Buyer with Manufacturing and MRP experience to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and sub-contract services to ensure seamless production operations.
The Buyer will raise purchase orders aligned with MRP systems, monitor open orders for timely fulfilment, and maintain accurate supplier and inventory data. You will build strong relationships with suppliers, resolve routine queries, and support cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative sourcing options. The role requires collaboration with various departments including Production, Engineering, and Quality, ensuring supply chain reliability and on-time delivery.
- Minimum of 5 years procurement experience within manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and stock control processes.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive approach and confidence in dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
- Experience working with BOMs, inventory management, and supply chain administration.
- Ability to adapt and learn technical product information over time.
