Functional Overview
The Insight department plays a critical, central role in shaping strategic and operational decision‑making for the UK business. By delivering robust, future‑focused consumer, shopper, trade and market knowledge, the team ensures that all choices — from brand strategy to commercial execution — are grounded in evidence‑based understanding. Our ultimate objective is to enable sustainable and profitable revenue and share growth in line with the long‑term AEI vision.
Operating as part of the broader Strategy, Planning & Insight function at AEI, the Insight team owns and leads the UK Insights agenda. We work in close partnership with UK commercial functions — Marketing, Sales, PRGM and Category — and are positioned as a core, high‑impact pillar of the AUK Marketing Function. Leveraging a wide array of methodologies, tools and data sources, the team transforms information into meaningful, actionable insight that drives competitive advantage and accelerates business growth.

Core Functional Responsibilities
- Enable faster, simpler and more effective decision‑making by embedding high‑quality insight at every stage of UK business strategy and execution.
- Implement best‑practice research methodologies to ensure insight integrity, consistency and value across all local teams and touchpoints.
- Lead and manage a portfolio of insight projects and initiatives, delivering timely, actionable outputs that influence brand, category and commercial outcomes.
- Drive insight integration into the 3‑Year Planning cycle, shaping long‑term strategy through cross‑functional collaboration and evidence‑based foresight.
- Act as a central engine for growth, ensuring insight serves as a catalyst for strategic clarity, brand direction, commercial prioritisation and future opportunity identification.
Qualification Criteria
- At least 4+ years experiences in Insight analysis in a mid/senior position.
- At least 3+ years of managerial or projects leadership experience.
- Experience of working with marketing departments to shape the insight agenda.
- Good understanding of fundamental commercial processes and roles.
- Experiences with cross‑functional teams cooperation & support provided across an organization.
- Experiences of managing insight projects end to end.
Lead the formulation, integration and communication of consumer insight to deliver effective, robust and consistent decision‑making across AUK brands. Provide insight‑driven knowledge aligned with the business cycle and commercial strategy development processes. Be the go‑to expert for consumer insight within the business—ensuring market knowledge is shared promptly, clearly understood, and acted upon by stakeholders. Lead implementation of consumer insight methodologies, processes and tools to drive effective knowledge management and high‑quality data usage. Manage the brand health tracking programme and social media analytics, ensuring key findings flow into the appropriate decision‑making forums. Proactively identify opportunities, emerging trends and risks through continuous trend monitoring and data analysis—translating findings into clear, actionable insights. Provide strong consumer insight inputs into the 3‑Year Mid‑Term Planning process, ensuring consumer, shopper and macro trends inform long‑range thinking. Act as a key consultant in core decision‑making forums, translating complex insight into strategic implications for brand and commercial teams. Collaborate effectively with Group Insights to strengthen the innovation pipeline and ensure development work reflects regional best practices. Deliver a capability programme for the AUK marketing community to enhance understanding and application of consumer insights. Develop and lead a consumer closeness programme, embedding direct consumer understanding into routines and ways of working.
