Key Account Manager – New Business

Join to apply for the Key Account Manager – New Business role at Asahi UK.

KAM is one of those titles in the drinks industry that can mean very different things depending on the company. So let me drill down a little on this one and why this might be the move for you.

Firstly, this isn’t going to be your traditional 9‑5. You’ll be building relationships and networks up and down the UK with General Managers across a variety of national on‑trade groups. That will mean being present when they are, which is quite often going to be in the evening. You’ll be comfortable with national travel, including staying away regularly during the week.

When it comes to building those relationships, this is where you really shine. You’ll do this by having a solid understanding of the on‑trade world, and how the right brands leverage growth opportunities in a challenging market. Those relationships will be pivotal to your negotiations with CEOs and buyers as you’ll want to really know how things are on the ground at various venues to position Asahi as a supplier of choice for their group. You’re the sort of person who wants to be known by everyone once you’ve walked on site (for the good reasons!) and are able to influence at every level in order to make your sale.

This role will predominantly focus on new business as you’ll be looking to open doors with prospective customers where we can add value, but you’ll also be comfortable in managing a select few current customers who we have opportunity to grow and evolve too.

Commercially you’ll be responsible for your P&L for your prospect base, so you’ll already be comfortable with dealing with and having financial conversations. Ideally this experience will be from selling into multi‑site operators to be able to manage the complexities of group negotiations and pricing.

Whilst this is a national role with national travel, you’ll be able to commute to London as most of your prospective customers are based that way.

Does this sound like a bit of you? If you think this could scratch that sales itch then pop us an application today and we’ll be in touch very soon.
