ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit 3x Systems Developers for initial 4 month contracts (with potential extensions) on a rate up to £635/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).

The Role: This role is based in the Design Team – this team is responsible for overseeing the end to end design of core systems within the organisation. This includes maintaining the overall design blueprint, improving how their systems are structured and delivered, and ensuring the design remains consistent and fit for purpose for both the staff and service users. To do this, the team works closely with colleagues across the organisation and with external development partners. They help ensure that system changes and improvements follow the agreed design approach. The team also works with suppliers on any defects or issues. The team takes a broad, service agnostic approach and focuses on four main areas:

  • End to end system design
  • Design governance and control
  • Development quality and good practice
  • Strategic development of core system components

As part of the Core Scrum Team, the Developers will support high priority and high value development work across the core system.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new system features and updates, ensuring they are tested for performance, quality, and long term stability.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior developers and testers.
  • Carry out code reviews across delivery teams when required.
  • Produce low level technical designs for features being developed.
  • Manage code merges and work with DevOps teams to resolve deployment or infrastructure issues.
  • Knowledge of Scottish social security systems and dealing with complex case management systems.
  • Be highly skilled in Java.
  • Have working experience with Curam and complex curam implementations.
