Are you an experienced operational planner with a strong background in resource scheduling and data management? We\’re seeking a Scrutiny Planning Team Leader to join a high-impact public sector programme on a 6-month contract, with potential to extend.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments and has a passion for strategic resource planning and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, plan, and coordinate the operational delivery of a 400+ annual inspection programme.
Allocate and schedule resources using established planning criteria and deployment principles.
Oversee day-to-day execution of the inspection plan, ensuring smooth delivery and rapid response to changes or issues.
Manage a small planning team to ensure operational goals are met.
Maintain and manage complex datasets using advanced Excel skills.
Leverage Power BI to produce dashboards, insights, and reports.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align scheduling with service delivery priorities.
Identify risks and provide strategic advice to leadership teams.
Support programme governance with accurate and timely management information.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Degree-level education and/or relevant professional qualification.
Minimum of 3 years\’ experience in a similar operational or scheduling leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in large-scale resource deployment and planning.
Strong leadership skills in a high-pressure, complex operational setting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Power BI.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
Desirable:
Experience within the education sector would be advantageous.
Work Location:
This role is hybrid, but initially the successful candidate will be expected to work from the Glasgow office to gain a full understanding of the team, processes, and nature of the work before transitioning to home-based work.
