ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Haddington, are currently looking to recruit 2x Accountants on a hybrid basis, on initial 6 month contracts (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£250-£300/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).
The Roles
The roles will involve the workers being the key finance contact for specified service areas within the organisation. This roles will involve day-to-day financial forecasting, budgeting & year-end management accounts closedown, ensuring that effective financial governance is in place, in line with the organisation and wider guidance.
Essential Skills
- Chartered Accountant/Part-Qualified Accountant
- Local Government Experience
- Knowledge of budget monitoring/development processes & procedures
- Ability to work alongside others and act as a ‘critical friend’ with Service Managers
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on finances of Education and/or Infrastructure (Roads, Waste, Transport etc.)
- Comfortable with remote/home-working.
- Experience of day-to-day supervision of Finance Officer(s)
- Knowledge and understanding of IFRS16 and how to apply and advise on this.
