ASA is working alongside local authorities to support multiple directorates across schools, care homes, sheltered housing and community use facilities.
We’re recruiting General Operatives across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
These opportunities offer weekly pay, flexible working patterns and the chance to build valuable experience within facilities management.
We welcome applicants with broad experience in cleaning, janitorial services, caretaking, facilities support, housekeeping, domestic services and portering.
We’re looking for reliable people who enjoy practical, varied work and take pride in helping to create clean, safe, and well-maintained learning environments for pupils, staff, and visitors.
What You Could Be Doing
- Supporting the day to day running of school facilities
- Carrying out general cleaning, housekeeping, and janitorial duties
- Setting up and moving furniture example equipment for lessons and events
- Assisting with waste collection, recycling and maintaining tidy external areas
- Reporting any repairs or health and safety concerns
- Replenishing cleaning products and site consumables
- Supporting deliveries, stock movement, and general facilities tasks
- Following all health and safety procedure.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in one or more of the following areas.
Cleaning, Janitorial, Facilities Management, Caretaking, Domestic Services, Portering, Maintenance Support or General Operative roles
- A good understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and safe working practices
- A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to support a variety of duties
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- PVG membership (or willingness to obtain one)
