ASA Recruitment is looking for Grounds & Building Operatives to support locations across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
This is a hands on, practical role helping to places like keep schools, care homes, sheltered housing and community facilities clean, safe and well maintained.
Across a typical week you’ll be involved in a mix of janitorial, building, grounds and cleaning duties. No two days need to look exactly the same, and we’re looking for people who take pride in doing a proper job.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out general janitorial and building support duties
- Keeping buildings, communal areas and facilities clean and presentable
- Cleaning toilets, corridors, classrooms, offices, kitchens and communal areas
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and sanitising
- Emptying bins and dealing with general waste and recycling
- Keeping entrances, pathways and surrounding grounds tidy
- Moving equipment, furniture and supplies when required
- Carrying out routine checks around the building and grounds and Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, damage or hazards
- Following COSHH, health & safety and site procedures
- Getting stuck into other practical jobs needed to keep the site running properly
What We’re Looking For
- Practical, hands-on and reliable
- Experienced in janitorial, caretaking, cleaning, facilities, grounds or general site work
- Happy taking on a mix of cleaning and practical duties
- Someone who takes pride in work
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and willing to get stuck in
- Able to spot and report problems and is familiar with basic health & safety and COSHH
- PVG registered or willing to obtain one
