We are looking for an experienced People Adviser to join our Client’s People Services team on an interim basis. In this role, you will provide trusted HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, managing complex casework, supporting recruitment activity, and ensuring the consistent application of employment legislation and best practice. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile public sector organisation, supporting managers and staff in delivering fair, inclusive and effective people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex HR casework through to outcome in line with UK employment legislation and good practice.
  • Provide practical and autonomous advice to managers and Members across the full range of HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify job requirements and support managers to develop job descriptions and recruitment strategies.
  • Lead and advise on recruitment campaigns, including adverts, assessment methods and selection processes.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to build an inclusive and supportive working culture.
  • Review people-related data and use HR systems to support decision-making.
  • Prioritise multiple workstreams, managing competing deadlines effectively.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • CIPD-qualified HR professional (or equivalent experience).
  • In-depth knowledge and application of UK employment law.
  • Evidence of independently managing complex HR casework.
  • Experience advising on recruitment and selection processes.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to create collaborative and inclusive working environments.
  • Digital proficiency, including use of HR systems and data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
