ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a HR Specialist on a hybrid basis working 2/3 days in the office per week, on an initial 6-month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of c. £400/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).

The Role: The successful contractor will provide additional capacity and specialist support across a range of People & Culture priorities, with a particular focus on organisational engagement, learning and capability activity, people analytics and employee relations support.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting delivery of colleague engagement initiatives and associated action planning
  • Assisting with the design, coordination and implementation of learning and development activity, including management capability and career framework related initiatives
  • Producing and interpreting people data, MI and analytics to support decision-making, workforce insights and reporting
  • Providing pragmatic and commercially balanced employee relations advice across a range of casework and policy matters
  • Supporting organisational change, workforce planning and broader People & Culture projects where required
  • Working collaboratively with leaders and managers across the organisation to ensure a high-quality people service and consistent employee experience
  • Supporting continuous improvement of HR processes, governance and documentation

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience operating at Senior HR Advisor and/or HR Business Partner level within a complex organisation
  • Generalist HR capability with particular depth in one or more of:
    • Employee Engagement
    • Learning & Development
    • People Analytics / Workforce MI
    • Employee Relations
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgement
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving capability
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) preferred
