ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 3x Casework Assistants on a hybrid basis, on an initial 3-month contract on a rate of c.£13.67/hour PAYE (based on experience).

The Role

The purpose of this role is to support administrative functions for the organisation. The main functions are the processing of different types of correspondence and providing administrative support to the Casework Admin team.

Responsibilities

  • Opening, scanning, uploading and classifying to the LEO information management system different types of incoming emails and post.
  • Assisting with filing paperwork as required.
  • Printing and posting external mail as required for staff.
  • Monitoring the support inbox and acknowledging receipt of guardianship paperwork received.
  • Electronically scanning and verifying some types of Mental Health Act forms.
  • Processing Young Person Monitoring paperwork.
  • Processing death notifications.
  • Creating on a template, uploading and posting guardianship visit or local visit letters and paperwork as required by practitioners.
  • Processing of Social Circumstances reports (SCRs).
  • Dealing with competing demands on time.
  • Maintaining accuracy of the processing work in the new computer system.

Essential Experience

  • Good standard of education, four National Fives or equivalent.
  • Ability to use office equipment, e.g. the photocopier and scanner.
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office packages including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to operate as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
