ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation with offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Admin Assistant to work on a hybrid basis, for an initial 4 month contract starting ASAP on a rate of £15.50/hour to £16.30/hour PAYE based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Supporting administrative stages of several processes for example Disclosure Checks via the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme, Skilled Worker Sponsorship, Recruitment and Onboarding and payroll processing.
- Processing and entering a high volume of data into various systems and databases accurately and efficiently.
- Conducting thorough and accurate identity checks for a variety of workstreams or purposes, ensuring that all required documentation and verification procedures are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintaining and updating records and files as required.
- Assisting with other administrative tasks as required.

- Experience of collaborative working, sharing knowledge and information across teams and the wider organisation.
- Experience working within frontline customer service.
- Experience of working both independently and as part of a team, whilst balancing a range of competing priorities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; to plan and prioritise own workloads; and to meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- HNC in business administration or SCQF Level 7 equivalence via Professional Development Awards; Higher Education Certificates; Modern Apprenticeships; and SVQs.
- Experience of working within an office support service environment.
- Experience of working with large volumes of data.
- Experience of supporting team meetings, webinars, events and/or conferences online.
- Experience of working within a Health, Social Care or educational environment.
- Working knowledge of online service desks such as Jira.
- Understanding of the application of GDPR to the storage and use of personal information and data privacy.
- Ability to respond to confidential and sensitive situations with confidence and discretion, utilising tact, diplomacy, and persuasion skills when necessary.
