ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Manager on a hybrid basis, on an initial 6-month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£250-275/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).
The Role: We are looking for a Business Manager with strong organisational and corporate coordination skills, who is comfortable working across teams, supporting senior colleagues, and keeping complex activity on track. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, suited to someone who enjoys structured work, clear priorities, and contributing to important organisational outputs without needing to own everything end to end.
As Business Manager – Governance, you will support the smooth running of key corporate and governance activity by providing coordination, tracking, and quality support across a defined set of priorities. You will work closely with the Head of Governance, Risk & Corporate Office and colleagues across the organisation, helping ensure information is pulled together, actions are followed up, and deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
- Support the coordination of governance activity, including meeting schedules, agendas, papers and forward plans
- Assist with the coordination of the Annual Report & Accounts, helping gather contributions, track progress and support quality checks
- Help maintain and update business continuity documentation and directorate plans
- Track organisational actions and follow up updates with teams to support timely delivery
- Prepare clear summaries, briefings and updates to support senior colleagues
- Act as a helpful point of contact for governance related and corporate queries
- Contribute to improving templates, trackers and ways of working to support efficiency
- Provide flexible support to agreed corporate priorities during peak periods
Essential Experience:
- Experience working in a business management, corporate support, coordination or governance related role
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear summaries or reports
- Experience supporting senior colleagues or stakeholders in a professional environment
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
- Confidence working collaboratively across teams and following up actions with colleagues
