We’re working with a leading global engineering consultancy to recruit a Principal / Associate / Associate Director level engineer to join their Building Services team in Leeds or Manchester. This is a senior role within a multidisciplinary M&E team, where you’ll take ownership of project delivery, lead teams and play a key role in developing client relationships across a range of sectors.
The Role
This is a mechanically biased position, however you will be expected to have a strong understanding across mechanical, electrical, public health and sustainability disciplines. You’ll be responsible for leading the delivery of building services solutions, managing projects from concept through to completion and ensuring high-quality outputs across your team. You’ll also play a key role in supporting business development, bids and client engagement. Projects span defence, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and leisure sectors across both public and private clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of M&E building services design projects
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
- Oversee and review engineering calculations and technical outputs
- Take responsibility for project performance (technical and commercial)
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support and lead bids, tenders and client presentations
- Mentor and develop engineers within the team
- Ensure designs align with sustainability and low-carbon targets
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
- Strong background in building services consultancy (M&E)
- Proven experience delivering projects from concept to handover
- Experience leading teams and managing clients
- Good working knowledge across mechanical, electrical and public health disciplines
- Strong understanding of low-carbon design and sustainability
Technical Experience
- IES (essential) – energy modelling and analysis
- Revit and Navisworks
- MagiCAD (desirable)
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and standards
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to obtain SC clearance
- Strong communication skills and client-facing experience
