We are excited to be looking for a conscientious patient centred salaried GP to join us working 4 sessions per week. We have grown rapidly because of merging practices covering a wide geographical area. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated GP to our team. We currently have 20,000 patients and work across 3 operational sites. We are a GMS practice working on TPP clinical system and are part of the East PCN.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake all the duties associated with the role of General Practitioner, taking into account physical, psychological and social factors when diagnosing illness, treating diseases and recommending treatment.
  • Collect, record and maintain patient information accurately, using templates and read codes if necessary.
  • Your working day consists of face to face appointments, telephone appointments, administration such as sick notes, lab reports, prescriptions and referrals.
  • You would be included in the duty doctor rota which may include home visits.

About us

We are a friendly GP practice with 3 sites in Doncaster: our main branch is Armthorpe, Mere Lane and our other sites are in Intake (Sandringham Road) and Auckley (Ellers Lane). We have a practice list size of approximately 20,000. Our practice team consists of 7 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 5 advanced clinical practitioners, 2 prescribing pharmacists, a physician associate, 3 practice nurses, 2 minor ailment nurses, a nurse associate and a student nurse associate, 2 healthcare assistants, 4 dispensers/medicine assistants and a full suite of administration staff. We are part of the East primary care network providing additional roles including MSK practitioners, mental health workers and social prescribers. We are proud to be a training practice for GP registrars, medical students and PA students.

Job responsibilities

  • The post holder will report to the partners and practice manager.
  • Work in accordance with the Service clinical procedures and protocols alongside any other additional requirements from outside organisations including GMC, ICB etc.
  • Request, perform and/or interpret tests, records, reports and examination information.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication and other appropriate medical care.
  • Promote health education in conjunction with other health care professionals and have an awareness of the local health and social issues impacting the cohort of patients seen within the Service.
  • Refer patients for further opinions and interventions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the Doncaster Prescribing Formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
  • Carry out clinical audits as appropriate.
  • Liaise with other health care professionals when required.
  • Recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and communicate effectively with team members, patients, carers and other colleagues and health care professionals.
  • Maintain medical knowledge and skill level in line with your Personal Development Plan and for the safe delivery of clinical care within the Service.
  • Attend training sessions as appropriate and required.
  • Undertake any other duties requested by the clinic and company within professional and general competence.

Personal/Professional development

  • Participate in any training programme implemented by the company as part of this employment.
  • Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.
  • Taking responsibility for your own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
  • Attend Doncaster TARGET training.

Experience

  • Desirable: Experience of SystemOne Clinical System.
  • Experience of working in primary care.
  • Experience of Qof.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Qualified General Practitioner.
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • National Performers List Registration.
