A Typical Day In The Role Includes

  • Own the end-to-end setup and ongoing optimisation of Google Tag Manager (GTM) across web and app properties.
  • Collaborate with development, UX, product, and CRO teams to define and implement robust, scalable tagging solutions aligned to key business goals.
  • Support cross-platform, cross-device, and cross-channel tracking initiatives to build a more complete picture of user journeys.
  • Build and maintain custom APIs or integrations that support advanced tracking needs across marketing and commercial teams.
  • Lead the development and upkeep of data layer specifications and technical documentation to ensure high data integrity and consistent implementation across markets.
  • Conduct regular audits, QA testing, and debugging of tags, triggers, and data layer outputs.
  • Drive forward mobile app analytics using Firebase and GA4, ensuring consistency between platforms and accurate in-app tracking.
  • Provide guidance, training, and documentation to business unit teams to upskill and standardise tracking practices.
  • Work closely with Data Governance stakeholders to enforce clean data principles, including naming conventions, versioning, and access controls.

What You\’ll Need

  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining tracking using Google Tag Manager (or similar TMS) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Practical experience with Firebase, BigQuery, and mobile app analytics implementations.
  • Experience with server-side tagging and evolving tag management best practices is a strong plus.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft stack (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).
  • Familiar with GDPR, cookie consent, and privacy-related requirements for digital data collection.
  • Experience translating business questions into technical tracking requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple ongoing initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple functions.
