We’re looking for an Apprentice Trainee Assistant Merchandiser to join our Merchandising team and take an exciting first step into a commercial retail career. With plenty of guidance and support, you’ll learn how we work with brands and suppliers, plan stock, review product performance and help make sure the right products are in the right place at the right time. You’ll build confidence using data, Excel, Microsoft 365 and Copilot tools, while working towards your apprenticeship qualification. This role is an 18-month fixed term contract.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the Merchandiser and wider team with brands, suppliers, product areas, stores and ecommerce.
  • Help track orders, deliveries and stock availability, keeping information clear and teams updated.
  • Learn how to plan order quantities and support effective stock management across our business.
  • Produce regular sales and supplier information, alongside simple analysis of promotions, products and best sellers.
  • Support weekly trade reviews, learning how to identify stock gaps, trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Keep trackers, planners, meeting notes and action logs organised, using Excel, Microsoft 365 and Copilot tools to support your work.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • A genuine interest in starting a career in merchandising, supply chain, retail or another commercial role.
  • Curiosity, a willingness to ask questions and a positive approach to learning through your apprenticeship.
  • Good attention to detail, basic numeracy skills and an interest in working with products and data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an inclusive and collaborative approach to working with others.
  • Basic confidence using IT, such as sending emails and creating simple documents, plus an interest in developing your Excel skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the willingness to ask for support, act on feedback and follow tasks through.

Previous experience in retail, beauty, fragrance or customer service may be helpful, but your potential and willingness to learn matter most. Training, guidance and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship.
