We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a Carpentry background to join a leading construction and fit-out contractor delivering high-value interior, commercial and refurbishment projects across London and the South East.

You will take full responsibility for the delivery of multiple carpentry-led packages or full projects, from pre-start through to handover, ensuring works are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role suits someone who has come through the trades, understands site realities, and can lead from the front.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from mobilisation to completion
  • Lead site teams, supervisors, subcontractors and carpentry trades
  • Programme and coordinate labour, materials and subcontractors
  • Ensure all carpentry and fit-out works are delivered to drawings and specifications
  • Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety and site presentation
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and senior management
  • Monitor programme, progress and budgets
  • Manage variations and ensure changes are communicated and costed
  • Chair site meetings and produce progress reports
  • Ensure works are completed to programme and handed over defect-free
  • Drive productivity and efficiency on site

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in construction, fit-out or carpentry-led projects
  • Trade background in Carpentry / Joinery
  • Experience managing projects valued between £1m – £20m
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Carpentry packages
  • Fit-out & refurbishment works
  • Programme and cost control
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and fast-paced projects
