About the Role: My client, a growing specialist sub-contractor are looking for a driven and experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a range of projects. You will play a key role in managing budgets, contracts, and commercial strategy to ensure project profitability and contractual compliance from pre-construction through to final account. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking construction team delivering high-quality projects across commercial and residential sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commercial performance of multiple construction projects.
- Price variations.
- Lead procurement and subcontractor negotiation processes.
- Manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Monitor and report on budgets, cash flow, and forecasts.
- Ensure robust contract management (JCT, NEC, or relevant forms).
- Collaborate closely with Surveyors, project managers, site teams, and clients.
- Ensure timely submission of valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.).
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent.
- Confident communicator with strong analytical and reporting skills.
