The Role

We are recruiting for a Mid-Level Estimator to join a growing Passive Fire Protection business specialising in FRA (Fire Risk Assessment) remedial works and Firestopping packages across residential, commercial and public sector buildings. This is a key role within the pre-construction team, responsible for pricing fire door replacements, compartmentation, firestopping and FRA remedial works accurately and commercially. You will work closely with surveyors, project managers and site teams to ensure tenders are compliant, profitable and deliverable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for FRA remedial and firestopping works
  • Measure and price works from:
    • FRA reports
    • Drawings and specifications
    • Site surveys
  • Price:
    • Fire doors
    • Fire stopping
    • Penetrations
    • Compartmentation
    • Mastic, batts, collars, coatings and related works
  • Send enquiries and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Build up labour, material and plant rates
  • Produce full tender breakdowns and pricing schedules
  • Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure tenders are deliverable
  • Support post-tender queries and handovers

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as an Estimator within Passive Fire Protection, Firestopping or FRA works
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Fire door and firestopping systems
    • FRA remedial scopes
    • Passive fire protection standards (e.g. BM TRADA, FIRAS, ASFP)
  • Ability to read drawings and FRA reports and convert them into priced scopes
  • Good Excel and pricing skills
  • Organised, commercially minded and detail focused
  • Comfortable working on multiple tenders at once
