Key Duties and Responsibilities: Portal Official Veterinarian (POV) -Border Import Control specifics (Where applicable) Responsible for the implementation of officials border controls for Products of Animal Origin (POAOs), and accountable for taking the decision on the outcome of those controls. To execute all duties involving the enforcement of Statutes, Regulations and other legal requirements relating to applicable border controls and in particular: Products of Animal Origin for Human consumption – (POAOs) Animal by-products, derived products and germinal products. To enforce legislation aimed at preventing the importation of non-compliant consignments of food or feed. – Assists in the developments of the policies and procedures to ensure these keep up to date with legislative or regulatory changes. Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine. – Membership of RCVS. – OCQ(V) – ES (Essential Skills), EX (Exports General) & PX (Products Exports) qualifications. There are 4 vacancies for Felixstowe/Harwich Port, you will work between both ports so you will need your own car. (travel expenses will be paid), you will be working on a shit pattern.
