Our Felixstowe client is seeking an experienced Import Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their busy logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of sea and road freight consignments. A solid understanding of import customs clearance procedures is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import shipments from point of booking through to final delivery.
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, and customers to coordinate shipments.
- Prepare and process import customs entries using CDS.
- Check and verify documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
- Arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
- Provide accurate updates to customers regarding shipment status.
- Maintain accurate records and filing in line with company procedures and compliance requirements.
