Our client is a well-established and growing logistics business based in Stowmarket. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Transport Operator to join their operations team and support the smooth running of daily transport and warehousing activities.
This is a key operational role, working closely with customers, drivers, and subcontractors to ensure a high level of service is consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage daily transport operations, including container transport, LCL movements, and general warehousing activities
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and on schedule
- Accurately input and manage bookings using the company's operational systems
- Handle incoming calls and emails promptly and professionally
- Manage and liaise with subcontractors to ensure service levels and compliance are maintained
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across transport and operational software
- Act as a point of contact for assigned customer accounts, providing a responsive and solutions-focused service
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within a transport, distribution, or logistics environment
- Strong UK geographical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Self-motivated, driven, and keen to contribute to a growing business
