A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing manufacturing business in Stowmarket. This role offers the chance to become part of a newly developing maintenance team, supporting the installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of site machinery and equipment.
The successful candidate will have strong mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on plant machinery and equipment
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Assist with machinery installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects
- Work from technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report findings effectively
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures
- Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment
- Confident using workshop tools and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Mechanical engineering qualifications are advantageous
- Proactive approach with strong teamwork skills
- Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
- Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
