As an EHS Manager based at our Huddersfield site, you will be a key driver in strengthening a proactive safety culture across a complex and diverse operational environment. Supporting a top-tier COMAH site alongside R&D and engineering service activities, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business—ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and empowering teams to work safely and sustainably. This role plays a critical part in enabling Arxada’s long-term growth by protecting our people, customers, assets, and communities, while shaping and advancing the EHS strategy in alignment with broader company goals.
- Lead and continuously improve the risk assessment programme across all business areas.
- Drive process safety management at the top-tier COMAH site and ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and the COMAH intervention plan.
- Monitor, report, and enhance EHS performance metrics and manage local systems to maintain ISO 14001 certification.
- Provide coaching and support to management and employees on EHS matters, strengthening overall competency and awareness.
- Manage the local EHS audit programme and maintain robust emergency response procedures.
Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. in Chemistry or an Engineering-related field), NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered IOSH membership are essential. 10+ years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with COMAH exposure. Full driving licence required, as the role will involve visiting the Manchester site and occasional visits to customer sites.
Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) focuses on threats posed by microorganisms to people and planet through five distinct business lines including Professional Hygiene, Home & Personal Care, Wood Protection, Paints & Coatings and Material Protection. Nutrition, Care & Environmental (NCE) provides materials used to manufacture composites for electronics, aerospace and other markets, as well as vitamins and nutritional ingredients, chemicals and performance intermediates, and raw materials for a wide range of high-performance applications.
