We are looking for a time-served experienced Field Service Installations Engineer based in Leeds/Manchester/Wales/Northampton areas – remote position, to work within the Wood Protection business. You will repair and service customers’ timber treatment plants and associated equipment at their premises. Working with other members of the team to complete the installation of small projects including piping & electrical installations, mixing skid unit fabrication, and commissioning and testing of equipment. To maintain good customer relationships and ensure proper and safe use of chemicals by operating personnel. Responsible for Company vehicle, tools, spares, and customers’ timber treatment plant. Essential Job Functions:
- Carry out maintenance of timber treatment plants and associated equipment at customers’ premises including completion of condition/service reports.
- Breakdown repair and fault diagnosis at customers’ premises.
- Commissioning and installation of new plants and upgrades to existing plants.
- Practical operator training to ensure safe operation of timber treatment plants and responsible use of chemicals.
- Compliance with all relevant site and customer EHS standards and a good knowledge and understanding of all relevant standards associated with the role, e.g., HSAWA, PUWER, LOLER, Pressure systems, Electrical systems.
- Driving / flying to customers’ sites.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Preferred area of study – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A Level standard. HNC/OND, City & Guilds National, BTEC / NVQ Level 3.
- 2 – 5 years experience in mechanical training & knowledge to include fabrication, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Electrical – Experience of SCADA, PLC, and control panel fault diagnostics, testing of equipment.
- Good communication skills at all levels and tenacious and analytical fault-finding skills.
- Must live in Leeds, Manchester, Wales, Northampton area for easy commutes to assigned travel areas.
- Field role: therefore, considerable travel is part of the role (up to 75-80%). Travel across Europe will be required and varies year to year. 37.5 hr. per week, flexibility as the role requires.
