The successful candidate will build professional relationships with our transport suppliers to ensure we are getting the best service most cost-effectively. Reporting to the Head of Transport, you will lead, develop, and support the Transport Management Specialists while overseeing the transport department\’s daily operations, ensuring its efficiency.
Your tasks
Plan, coordinate, and manage transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods. Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures. Monitor and optimise transport costs and performance (maintaining transport margins) Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards. Manage and lead a team of Transport Management Specialists to ensure the business needs are achieved Coordinate with clients and suppliers to meet their transportation needs. Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports. Provide transport proposals for new business, by completing carrier system negotiations and then implementing new clients. Support new initiatives and take an active part in projects relating to Transport Your profile
Proven experience as a Carrier Manager or in a similar role. Experience in people management and developing teams. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics, and working with carrier insurance requirements Experience in leading RFQs with potential new clients Excellent organisational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite. What we offer
