This organisation designs and manufactures roof trusses, joists and other engineered timber solutions for customers across the UK. Due to ongoing demand and a focus on maintaining a high-quality, customer-focused design service, they are looking to strengthen their design team. This role would suit an experienced, mid-level Roof Truss Designer who is technically competent, comfortable dealing directly with customers, and values working as part of a collaborative, office-based team. The business offers flexibility around working hours and a supportive environment with clear technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate roof truss and joist designs using Mitek Pamir based on customer and contractor information
- Review incoming designs, drawings and specifications, identifying risks and design considerations
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, including pre-design calls, post-design discussions and follow-ups
- Liaise closely with manufacturing colleagues to ensure designs are practical and buildable
- Maintain high levels of accuracy, compliance and documentation throughout the design process
- Manage your own workload across multiple projects to agreed timescales
Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Roof Truss Designer within the timber engineering or construction sector
- Strong working knowledge of Mitek Pamir design software
- Experience designing roof trusses and/or posi-joists independently
- Confidence in communicating directly with customers and responding to technical queries
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and building regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy in technical work
- Ability to work effectively as part of an office-based design team
