An established engineering business operating within the structural steel sector is seeking a Structural Engineer to support increasing project demand. This role focuses on steel connection design and temporary stability analysis for building projects and would suit an engineer with experience working on the fabrication or subcontractor side of the industry.
As a Structural Engineer you will:
- Design steel connections including plates, bolts and welds for structural steel projects
- Carry out temporary condition and erection-stage analysis of steel frames
- Review and optimise designs to improve efficiency and buildability
- Work collaboratively with engineers, draughting teams and project stakeholders
- Check engineering calculations and design outputs where appropriate
- Liaise with fabrication, project delivery and design teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function
We are looking for someone with:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum three years' experience in structural steel or connection design
- Direct experience designing steel connections
- Experience working with steel fabricators, steelwork contractors or similar businesses
- Knowledge of temporary stability and erection-stage considerations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
