A leading roofing contractor operating across the South of England is seeking a Procurement Buyer to support the day-to-day activities of its procurement function. Based in Exeter, this role will suit an organised and commercially minded procurement professional with experience within the construction sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing materials, plant hire and waste management services, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support operational programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the procurement team with the preparation and placement of orders for materials, waste management and plant hire.
- Source competitive quotations and secure best-value purchasing outcomes.
- Ensure materials and services are supplied in line with project programmes.
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships and identify new supply chain opportunities.
- Process supplier invoices, plant hire requirements, and waste management documentation.
- Manage supplier and internal account queries via email and telephone.
- Produce procurement reports, including live hire reporting.
- Liaise effectively with operational, finance and site-based teams to support business requirements.
Experience Required:
Minimum two years experience within a construction procurement environment.
