  • Are you a buyer or commercial coordinator from a construction, civil engineering or builders merchant background?
  • Would you enjoy working in a busy contracting business on impressive new build projects?

You will be joining a specialist construction division of a large international manufacturing group. Working alongside a commercial team of quantity surveyors and commercial manager, your role will be essential in raising timely orders for materials, plant, labour and products.

Alongside supporting the quantity surveying team with order placing, you will also have the chance to speak directly with suppliers to explore any available cost savings. This employer can offer excellent security with a long pipeline of work and backing of a highly successful group business.

We are looking for candidates based in the West Midlands who can work from offices in Birmingham.

The Role:

  • Raising purchase orders across a diverse supply chain
  • Liaising closely with quantity surveying and estimating teams to maintain accurate requirements for quantities and delivery schedules
  • Speaking with suppliers to explore improvements in pricing
  • Maintain up to date supplier information including product and service offerings and prices

  • Are commercially aware with experience of dealing with suppliers
  • Have a good understanding of the building products market
